The Drift Australia Finals were held at Oran Park raceway. Invited by Andrew Hawkins to check out the scene as I’ll be hosting with him soon for Motive DVD, I found myself amongst familiar faces from the automotive scene. There were crew from Auto Salon, drifting champ Fernando Wheirl and I even bumped into some high school class mates who were out to support the drifts. It was a great turnout even with the dark clouds lingering above the crowds.
Luke Fink was crowned the new Drift Australia champ and I’m sure we’ll see him back again next year to defend his title.
